Why I love Vegas

vegasAnother trip to Vegas, another sleepless three days (or was that four?). Sitting at a Bellagio coffee shop, sipping $5 Espresso, I thought it to be a good time to reflect on why I like Vegas…

1. Service. In Vegas service rules, but not without the dollar. I have decided that the level of service you can expect in Vegas is directly proportionate to the shirt you wear. I have seen numerous examples of this in the past week. On the occasions where I was decked out in my finest I was convinced I got results quicker. A cheap print Tee shirt just doesn’t cut it. Nevertheless, I love Vegas for its customer service, and I am more than happy to be a fool for paying tips, but at least someone is paying attention unlike most other cities in the world.

2. Food, glorious food! Someone told me that Vegas has more Michelin Chefs than any COUNTRY in the world. True or not, I have once again had some of the best meals in the last few days. You can of course eat real garbage in Vegas, but if you venture slightly above the average, the food is damn good.

3. Poker, poker and more poker. I am like a kid in a candy shop in this town. Just the though of having access to countless poker rooms, 24 hours a day gives me an adrenaline rush like little else.

4. Women! Enough said. Eye candy in Vegas has no match, anywhere in the world. You know you have seen a lot if you end up at a party with Playboy bunnies and the first thing you look for is the bar.

and…last but not least…

5. Vegas Cabbies. Most people hate them. I love them. Where else in the world can you go and get told politely to piss of in 15 different languages for not giving a tip? Seriously, someone should do a socio economic study of Vegas cab drivers. They are from every corner of the world and some have some seriously interesting stories to tell if you bother listening (and have the ability to distinguish between a true life story and total bullshit).
